Bowmonk announces BrakeCheck Geo with built-in GPS

Bowmonk Tapley has announced a new member of its BrakeCheck family of popular handheld DVSAapproved decelerometers.

The BrakeCheck Geo includes a built-in GPS receiver which allows it to record the GPS coordinates of the point where the vehicle stopped at the end of its brake test. The GPS coordinates are then included on the print-out, giving an exact record of the brake test location for auditing purposes and to provide a greater level of validation.

The GPS facility can be turned on or off by the user as required depending on requirements. When enabled, a brake test cannot be started until BrakeCheck Geo has obtained a GPS fix. The GPS status (off, obtaining fix, or locked) is indicated by an LED.

BrakeCheck Geo shares all its other features with the easy to use BrakeCheck Plus, which stores up to 99 test results (for both service brake and parking brake) in its onboard memory. Test results can easily be printed using the optional wireless portable printer.

In addition to calculating the brake efficiency, the device also indicates whether the vehicle pulls to the left or right during braking.
