If a vehicle was failed, for example, on excessive king pin lift – vehicle returns repaired on same day – in carrying out a partial re-test on the said item, I clicked on partial re-test left VTS. I didn’t consider fastrack as I wanted to re-check the brakes knowing full well that to do a king pin involves stripping the brakes. Obviously a VT40 gets produced to write down the brake calculations, because it’s only a partial re-test, I obviously check the king pin and associated items but what about the tick boxes on the VT40.
If I tick each box that implies that I have checked the components related to each box, which I haven’t because it’s only a partial re-test – Please tell me the correct procedure – do I leave them blank????
Was I also correct in not doing a Fast track on the King pin ?? If I had have pressed fast track would the system have allowed me to do so ???

The correct procedure is to do a partial retest, left VTS. The brake readings need to be recorded as you know full well that they have been stripped down to enable the repairs to be carried out.
You should perform a thourough check on all possible components that are likely to have been disturbed to enable the repair to be carried out. That is, not only the items that you would have removed, but more… You don’t know what the repairer felt the need to dismantle to do the job…
Only tick the boxes for items that you retested. Strike through the other items.
Make a note on the VT40 that the test was a partial retest for king-pin lift.
