Spark Ignition vehicles, that petrol, registered prior to August 01st 1992, that’s before the K registration plate did not require a catalyst emissions test. From August 01st 1992 a catalyst test is required, however there were some exceptions because some manufacturers like Ford had vehicles within an intrim period, which became exempt from the catalyst emissions test, its a long time ago now, but advise the tester that the emissions analyser should point him in the right direction, that is to a none cat test, he will not be able to provide an exact match for the records.
