              yet again the lifeboat is lanched to save the one who appears to be above all US TESTERS:(.

You have yourself stated the bind rfr is for the service brake and not the park, this is in fact wrong, for it is for neither. For we are looking for that significant reading without any brake being applied, so by its intent it is for neither. If it is binding at the appropriate point in the test then fail it, if it were to be binding after the park brake is applied, I would carry out that axle test again, if no bind again at the appropriate point, then P&A if there is then I would fail it. I am not failing it for park or service brake bind but “bind”. Not asked to pin it down! Now thats the manual;)

You can now climb aboard or risk being eaten by all those SHARKS:shock: ie US TESTERS that you upset so, by your be-littling manner.

I am sure you can pick holes in my post, and if so I will sit in the corner with my pointy hat on and only dream of being as intelligent as you:D “”””NOT””””

Sorry guys but I think we are all going off on a tangent now, maybe the posts are too long, and may be instead of trying to keep upsetting one another, which from my point is not intentional although you guys think it is, we should just try to have professional discussions without being ill mannored about it.

For some reason I don’t know our conversations seem to get sent off on every tangent except where they should be, considering we all do the same job every day and everyone arrives at different conclusions all the time, i just can’t understand how on Gods Earth everybodies National Figures from the Monthly performance reports are all in line?

Take my latest post with the park brake, and lets keep it professional, use the regulations to base all ideas on, what have we got;

Park brake lever mechanism (3.1.1,2) check the vehicle has a park brake designed to operate on two wheels, or one wheel if a three wheeler, which it is not. Also its not hydraulic.

Parking brake regulation (3.5.1b) this refers to cables which can be seen, I found no fault. then, one of you said regulation (3.5.1j) which refers to a restriction of free movement, ok its a Rover 75 with cables which go straight into the brake back plates, no levers or mechanical components to be seen, you as well as me test these common vehicles all day, you know if you can’t see it you can’t test it, so up to this point there is no fault present.

what next; Brake performance test, we testing the parking brake so must apply the regulations which only apply to the parking brake. Regulation (3.7A.7a) This clearly states the requirement to be met, which says;

Little or no effort is recorded from the parking brake on any wheel, indicating clearly that the brake is not functioning correctly.

Where does it say you can fail a “Parking Brake” for binding, please don’t use the service brake requirements, these are not for the parking brake.

Just to recap, the Parking brake is totally independant from the service brake.
