I just tested a car where the nearside rear antiroll bar linkage was missing, and based on the rusty appearance must have been missing for some time, surely VOSA can’t expect a tester to abandon a test based on their opinion that a vehicle with a linkage missing is dangerous?
What happens when an antiroll bar is missing, the testers manual says fail that not abandon it?

Some Landrover Disco`s have a front anti roll bar fitted and some don`t.
So are you saying fail it?:? surely if it aint there you can`t fail it?;)

Wes, I can only advise what the testers manual advises a tester to do with regards the standards to be applied. The manual says;
Check that an anti-roll bar is fitted to an axle on which it is standard.
If your experience knows that a vehicle does not have a anti – roll bar fitted as standard, and you are sure that it has not been removed and become the norm not to be there, when it should, then your experience must prevail, if you have an element of doubt, then check with VOSA who will probably advise a tester to pass and advise.
