Your not far wrong there Removalizer, many years back a senior VE at the then department for transport told me a story about loads of folks taken from central government that had to be given jobs in the civil service, that is the DfT now known as VOSA. This senior VE told me how they were forced to take them on board but did not want them, they were soldiers from the second world war?
The ironary, the senior VE who had worked his way up through the ranks got into the Dft through the back door, where the Dft didn’t wany him in either?
