im going from memory here but here goes,petrol emissions testers will generally provide 2 prints,the station keeps 1 copy the presenter generally gets given the other,diesel tests generally only provide 1 print unless prompted to print again.the reason is that there was no requirement to give the presenter a print and diesel testers postdated petrol emissions testers so were programmed that way from the off. but diesel testers in some circumstances will provide none at all.if a test was conducted and a print obtained the station will have a copy for you to view/photocopy and they must keep it for 3mnths,i have come across some stations that only print 1 copy or print it on the back of the mot checklist to save paper/money and if that’s the case you aint got one.they do have to provide you a copy if asked however.we still don’t know if the vehicle is petrol or diesel remember.if its diesel and they didn’t get a print their mot copy shud read summat like”passed due to low emissions,no print obtained”hope this helps.
