trouble is it leaves you with no way of telling if the switch is operating and if you press the switch and nuffin happens I cant blame anyone for failing it and lets face it if the lamps been removed theres only one reason for it and it aint cos its working fine now is it?if youre lucky they will only have slapped sealant/tape or similar over the bulb cos from memory they used embedded led chips for bulbs and ive seen some very expensive breakages to dashboards of that nature caused by this particular bodge along with abs/airbag etc lights.normally means the motors being sold to some poor sod and no one realises till it gets a legit test a year later at which point we as the testers concerned tend to start getting shouted at…….
