I would expect similar advises this time around assuming it aint got no worse because it sure wont have healed up on its own.from a repair perspective a subframe that’s already rotted thru and been repaired has probably got other areas of concern by now.keep in mind that an mot is a basic visual exam,some items/areas aint gonna be visible and rust failing when it goes thru generally means most of the other areas of rust are gonna be thin at best.the skoda rear axle tends to rot thru at the rear lower shock mounts and sometimes at the axle mounts also.the front wishbones tend to rot thru on the upper surface and at the forward point where they bolt to the ally subframe.repair/replace as necessary.another advise for repairs etc covered in sealant has been added since last year so if everythings been painted over that might make an appearance but the only real cure for rust(unless purely superficial)is to remove it and add rust free metal in its place.given that you are describing 2×15 year old motors who (at best) have a great future behind them calls into question the financial viability of changing stuff like subframes.the final advice I would give anyone using/buying stuff like this is to keep it in a garage and use it at least once a month.just sitting in your garden/drive decomposing(or indeed in a previous owners)does em no good whatsoever.if you cant keep it undercover and youre keeping it for more than a couple of months then don’t bother,you wouldn’t believe how quick cars that age deteriorate when exposed to real life after being stood up.
