youve also gotta bear in mind that requirements for cars of that vintage were pretty lenient.to give you an example when rear fogs became compulsory fitment(80/81 i think from memory)some cars had pretty rudimentary telltales.last of the vauxhall chevettes and mk1 cavaliers for instance it consisted of a piece of orange tape that was visible when the switch was in the on position.not a lot of use in the dark conditions in which it was most likely to be used but hey…..pass.
