Chiltern MOT Consultants Ltd started this petition to Grant Schapps Secretary of State for Transport

The Coronavirus has affected this country and the people and businesses in it more than any of us could have every imagined. Our government have been exemplary in stepping up and helping out with financial packages that cover most businesses and individuals so that we can ride the current storm and come out the other side.

The Retail, Hospitality and Leisure sector has been given a 12 month rates holiday and access to a cash grant of up to £25,000. Many MOT stations and garages are small, independent businesses in premises that are classified as Light Industrial. Many of them pay large rates bills. They won’t receive a rates holiday or be able to access a £25,000 grant.
