Had MOT and passed. Car was presented in the month before expiry of existing certificate. My anniversary is not preserved and my MOT history is now weird. Garage says tough (more or less)

Reg is DU10 XCP any advice appreciated but you will need to view history.

    hi
can you post the expiry date from youre old certificate.
we have no control as to whether the date is carried over or not..its a job for DVSA to sort unfortunately if its wrong.

they’ve tested the same vehicle twice for some reason(probably forget to type in any advises and once entered your only option on our system is to enter it for another test to add em and the second time it doesn’t add non expired time as its greater than 1 mnth),go back and ask for a duplicate of the first test, that will have the correct expiry date on it.a duplicate means that theoretically they could charge you but as its their fuck up they shouldn’t.another alternative is to print it off the gvmnt website yourself but you will need the logbook no for that

Report the mistake to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) see if they can correct it.
